Siracusana Olive Oil is a premium organic extra virgin olive oil produced by the Ficara family at their estate, Tenuta Cavasecca, located in the Monti Iblei region near Syracuse, Sicily. This oil is crafted exclusively from the Siracusana cultivar, also known as Zaituna, sourced from the estate’s ancient, millenary, and centenary olive trees. The Siracusana variety is considered one of Sicily’s oldest olive types, and its use in this oil reflects a commitment to preserving the region’s rich agricultural heritage.
It is known for its robust and structured profile. It boasts an intense green color with golden hues. On the nose, it offers a persistent fruity aroma with distinct notes of almond, artichoke leaf, and green tomato. On the palate, it delivers an elegant and complex flavor, marked by an enveloping bitterness and a lingering spiciness that can persist for several minutes, making it a standout among extra virgin olive oils.
